Three of the largest coal-fired generating stations in PJM are at risk of closure in the near term (Pleasants, Sammis, and Bruce Mansfield), which total 5,258 MW, almost 10 percent of the total PJM coal fleet.2 EVA used the potential closure of these plants to analyze the impact of closing coal-fired plants on the merchant power markets.
