Russian Coal Production Increases Despite Fierce Competition and High Railway Freight Cost

Russian domestic coal production increased by 14.9m tonnes to 281.4m tonnes over the first 7 months of this year, up 5.6% y-o-y. Russian coal exports also increased to 119.8m tonnes over the Jan.-September period, of this year, up 7.1m tonnes or 6.3% y-o-y.
