API2 prices jumped by more than $100/t in the last 10 days, pushed by Germany emergency gas plan which should lead to the activation of a 10 GW reserve of coal plants following cuts in NS1 gas flows, just before the startup of the EU ban on RU coal in August.
Russian coal still represented 40% of total German coal imports in April-22.
