India’s Coal production down by 3% in Jan 21 on YoY and 2% up by MoM.

Coal production in Jan 2021 stands at 73 Million Metric Tons (MMT) down by 3% on YoY basis. Demand and burning of coal from small and medium scale industry is back to Pre-Covid level.

India’s Coal production was 75 MMT in Jan 2020 and 71.82 MMT is Dec 2020.

Coal India Limited(CIL) has shown the negative growth of 4% in production and offtake down by 4% on YoY. CIL produced 60.5 MMT and dispatched 53.3 MMT in Jan 2021

The Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) has shown 4% growth in Coal production after negative growth from Mar to Nov 2020. SCCL Production in Jan 2021 was 5.73 MMT

Other (Private & Captive Miners) coal production expected at 7.2 MMT up by 6% on YoY. India’s total production in 2020 grew by 1% at 727.9 MMT
