Chinese Coal Supply-side Reform

Since the launch of the 13th Five Year Plan in March, Chinese supply side reform has made significant progress in terms of regulatory overhaul and capacity reduction. Chinese coal production declined by 8.4% y-o-y to 1.34Bn tonnes over the Jan-May period, compared with 6.8% decrease in the Jan-April period.
