India achieved a historic peak in coal and coke imports

Closing out the calendar year 2023 on a robust note, India achieved a historic peak in coal and coke imports, totalling 265.52 MMT. This marked a noteworthy 9% increase from the CY2022 level of 244.43 MMT, surpassing the previous historical record of 259.66 MMT set in CY2019 by 2%.
