India’s coal production rose by 12.13 percent to 92.92 million tonnes (MT) in December compared to 82.87 MT in the corresponding month of the previous fiscal. The country’s coal dispatch increased to 86.64 MT (provisional) last month in comparison to 79.63 MT recorded in December 2022, registering a growth rate of 8.8 percent. Coal production will now seasonally grow every month until Mar 2024 before production is sequentially reduced because of extremely hot weather followed by monsoon.
