International thermal coal prices continued their decline

International thermal coal prices continued their descent this week, with the notable exception of Australian coal. Despite the absence of substantial demand, prices found support from an incident at an Australian mines. Conversely, Indonesian coal prices, even with supply disruptions due to heavy rainfall, failed to see any increase, highlighting the critical role of demand. It appears that Australian coal prices are uniquely responsive to any form of disruption. Meanwhile, coal prices from other regions remained under pressure due to sluggish market activity from major importers.
