Metallurgical Coal Outlook – Australia

Australia’s metallurgical coal export earnings to decline from record highs, due to lower prices. The December quarter has seen a further fall in the premium Australian hard coking coal (HCC) spot price, a decline that commenced in the second half of 2018. Rising supply and soft demand is expected to see the price trade in a US$120–170 a tonne range over the outlook period. Source: Office of the Chief Economist, Australia
