Coal prices head south ahead of the holiday season

The thermal coal market bled red during the week, primarily influenced by the year-end impact of diminished demand and suppliers rushing to finalize transactions ahead of the holiday season. Pressure on the demand side persisted, as China and India reported increased stock levels at their ports. Despite ongoing supply-side challenges, declining purchasing interest and lower freight rates contributed to the overall decline in prices.
