Coal prices slow down after highs of past three weeks

The thermal coal market experienced a downturn, after being elevated for the last three weeks, which was largely due to the fear of supply disturbance from additional sanctions on Russian coal. With Chinese demand slowing down and Indian demand also remaining limited, the market players exhibited resilience. Supply-side constraints persisted, particularly with weather effects in Indonesia.
