Coal-fired power as a security backstop in Europe’s grid

India’s total imports of coal & coke almost come to last year’s imports with 120.38 MMT during January to June period of the current year. Comparing total coal imports with pre-covid level data, India’s imports have been reduced by 11%. India still needs one or two more years to reach that level.
