India’s coal and coke imports see a 17month low in December

India’s coal and coke imports in December 2024 dropped to a 17-month low of 19.33 million metric tons (MMT). This significant decline is attributed to sluggish activity in the last quarter. Imports fell by 17% YoY from 23.34 MMT in December 2023 and by 5% month-over-month (MoM) from 20.24 MMT in November 2024.
