Russian coal supplies up 5.6% in H1 2023

In January-June 2023, total Russian coal supplies, including exports and deliveries to the domestic market, increased to 200.4 mio t (+10.6 mio t or +5.6% y-o-y).

In H1 2023, 91.5 mio t were sent to the domestic market (+3.7 mio t or +4.2% y-o-y), of which:

·        48 mio t (+5 mio t or +11.6%) was directed to power plants;
·        20.2 mio t (+2.9 mio t or +16.8%) supplied to coking plants;
·        23.3 mio t (-4.2 mio t or -15.3%) shipped to other consumers.

Russian coal exports in H1 2023 climbed to 108.9 mio t (+6.9 mio t or +6.7% y-o-y).

In January-June 2023, Russian coal production rose to 217 mio t (+3 mio t or +1.4% y-o-y).
